After a fake digital card shared on social media over an alleged altercation between former Machakos senator Johnson Muthama and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi following the dismal performance of UDA candidate in the Machakos senatorial by-election appeared, all has gone mute.
But of concern is Mathama’s silence or, has Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka “released Muthama’s estranged wife Agnes Kavindu to the former senator after the by-election?” In the quote attributed to MP Sudi, Muthama, former Kakamega senator Bonnie Khalwale and Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa are accused of double-crossing William Ruto. The quote stated that Muthama pretends to be an ally of Ruto but secretly supported his ex-wife, Kavindu, for the Machakos senatorial seat.
However, impeccable sources has confided to Weekly Citizen that the former senator had been fighting for his life at Nairobi’s Aga Khan Hospital on a ventilator after conducting the dreaded Covid-19 disease for the two weeks. Thankfully, he is now out of danger. Kavindu who was running on a Wiper party defeated Urbanas Ngengele who was vying on UDA ticket whose chairman is Muthama. Kavindu garnered 104,080 votes against Ngengele’s 19,705 votes.

Immediately after the exercise, Muthama spoke out following the landslide win of his ex-wife, Kavindu and congratulated her for leading a spirited campaign and winning the senatorial seat. “You have our support as you serve the people of Machakos.
To our Ngengele, pongezi for a good show! Let’s pull together and focus on the future,” read an excerpt of the statement. At the same time, the former senator asked his followers to shun rumours being peddled around that he was being blamed by UDA officials following the loss. Here, Muthama was reacting following the fake digital card that was trending on several social media platforms. “Hustler fraternity, please, consider this as fake and fictitious news!” Muthama stated.
