Former Tahidi high actor Hiram Maina aka Omosh has narrated that he was so addicted to alcohol that he could not function without it.
It was like a daily dose for him. Speaking during an interview with Terrence and his wife Milly Chebby, Omosh shared
‘ I used to drink daily.
I could not eat, sleep or do anything before I took alcohol.
I drunk out of addiction.
Sometimes I would tell mama (wife) ‘ hii mkate ya brown sio pia acha niendee cake kwa duka and come back drunk.
If my blood was to be tested at that time the alcohol content in my body was more than that of my blood.’
Omosh’ admission comes at a time when he has opened up in the struggles he has been going through to am extent of not being able to properly take care of his family.
The father of five had recently narrated how he was facing eviction over rent arrears accumulating to over Sh100,000.
That’s not all, Omosh, who is now jobless after Tahidi High dramatically came to an end after Covid-19 hit, has been struggling to make ends meet and can’t afford to give his kids the best life.
‘TAHIDI ILIPOFUNGWA, FRIENDS NA NEIGHBOURS NDIO WAMENIWEKA. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO,’ HE SAID BURSTING INTO TEARS.Loading...

Despite the tough times, Omosh hasn’t given up on praying, hoping one day he will secure a job and be the sole provider for his family.
‘SOMETIMES, NATOKA NJE HATA USIKU, NAPRAY NA NALIA TU. NAAMBIA MUNGU, KWANI MUNGU ULINIWACHA? KWANI MUNGU ULINISAHAU?’ BUT GOD HAS ALWAYS BEEN GRATEFUL. SIJAWAHI KUKOSA LUNCH, BREAKFAST AMA SUPER.’
Kenyans came through for him and he is on his way to recovery as they provided food for him, a piece of land among other things.
